QUT Peter Coaldrake Education Precinct

Kelvin Grove Campus, Brisbane

The idea for the ‘Sphere’ was to create a significant technology installation at the QUT Kelvin Grove campus to complement the ‘Cube’ at the Gardens Point Campus. The scale, location of this element had to be carefully coordinated with the installers and QUT to ensure its success within the volume of the interior space.

Switching between a range of visual landscapes, such as, a planetary landscape, aquarium, and a brain, the ‘sphere’ empowers students, staff and visitors with a sense of wonder and curiosity as they learn, study, and connect with peers.
