Mueller College
Rothwell, Queensland
Mueller College was established in 1990 as a Christian co-educational School in Rothwell on the Redcliffe peninsula. In 2015 Wilson Architects undertook a comprehensive Masterplan to consolidate the Prep, Junior, Middle and Senior Schools into distinctive Precincts. The Masterplan identified opportunities to take advantage of an under-utilised asset, the lake adjacent to the heart of the School.

A series of interventions including the new Senior School Building and the re-organisation of traffic flow has seen the School reclaim the lake and surrounding landscape into a heart space for students. The Senior Building overlooks the lake with formal and informal study spaces taking advantage of the landscape. In addition an outdoor classroom with pontoon allows for direct use of the lake for curriculum purposes.
Subsequent work for Mueller College has involved a new Tuckshop, Arts and Drama building refurbishment, a new Design Technology building and a Dance studio.
